Seventeen debulted under Pledis Entertainment on May 26,2015. The group consists of 13 members. The members are S.coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK,Seungkwan, Hoshi, Jun, The8, and Dino. The reason why their name is seventeen is that there are 3 units: the hip-hop unit, the vocal unit, and the performance unit, there are 13 members, and they are one group.
S.Coups birth name is Choi Sung Cheol. He is apart of the hip-hop unit. He is the leader of seveenteen.He is the leader of the Hip-hop unit. He was supposed to debult with NU’EST. He was formally a member of Tempest. He has a black belt in Taekwondo.
Jeonghan birth name is Yoon Jung Han. He is apart of the vocal unit. He became a trainee in 2013. He says that he is the third best visual in the group.
Joshua birth name is Hong Jisoo. He is apart of the vocal unit. He was born in Korea but was raised in Los Angeles, California. During Weekly Idol he introduced himself as the member who can speak 5 different languages.
Jun birth name is Wen Junhui. His korean name is Moon Jun Hwi. He is a chinese member. He is apart of the Perforance unit. He was a child actor in china. He is skilled in Martial Arts. He became a trainee in 2012. 聽He enjoys spicy food.
Hoshi birth name is Kwon Soonyoung. He is apart of the performance unit. He is the leader of the performance unit. He choreographs most of Seventeen’s routines. He became a trainee in 2011. He has a black belt in Taekwondo and he was a Taekwondo champion when he was young. He has unusual habit of collecting bizarre photos of the members. His stage name means star in japanese.
Wonwoo birth name is Jeon Wonwoo. H is apart of the hip-hop unit. He became a trainee in 2011. He is scared of dogs. The members voted him as the cleanest member. He has said himself that he looks cold due to his sharp eyes but he’s a warm person.
Woozi birth name is Lee Jihun. He is apart of the vocal unit. He is the shortest member of Seventeen. He is the leader of the voca unit. Due to his height he is the most teased member. He is voted by the other member is the most hard working memeber, along with Soonyoung. He was a member of Tempest. He composes and makes the lyrics for most of Seventeen’s songs.
Dk birth name is Lee Seokmin. He is apart of the vocal unit. He is one of the funnier member. He likes to be cheerful and energetic because he want to make others happy.
Mingyu birth name is Kim Mingyu. He is apart of the hip-hop unit. He is the visual of the group. He is the tallest member of the group. He became a trainee in 2011. He is in charge of hair styling in the group.
The8 birth name is Xu Minghao. His korean name is Seo Myung Ho. He is apart of the performance unit. He is a chinese member. He became a trainee in 2013. He did b-boying in China for 5 years.
Seungkwan birth name is Boo Seung Kwan. He is apart of the vocal unit. He is the mood maker in Seventeen. He became a trainee in 2012. He is allergic to tomatoes. His favorite food is hamburgers.
Vernon birth name is Hansol Vernon Choi. He is another member that was born in korea but was raised in America. He was raised in New York. He is a part of the Hip-hop unit. He has a little sister named Sofia. He is one of the member that is easily scared. His favorite food is chocolate. He is a Harry Potter fan.
Dino birth name is Lee Chan. He is apart of the perforance unit. He is the youngest member of Seventeen. He is a big fan of Michael Jackson. Both of his parents were dancers. He made the Choreo for their song “Jam Jam.”
In 2016 Seveen has won 7 varies music awards including Best new male artist. Their newest song “Don’t Wanna Cry” has over 3 million veiws. Seventeen’s debut song is “Adore you” has over 21 million veiws. For many of their songs they will do dance practice versions or funny versions of the songs.

The dorm that seveenteen live in only has 3 bathroom which makes it diffcult for them. There are often times that 3 members would be in the bathroom at a time. When they do laundry it wouldn’t be uncommon for member clothing to disappear.

It’s very intriguing to read about your interest in K-Pop. As a Korean, I used to listen to Korean music a lot growing up but have not been keeping up with the newer groups (there’s just too many of them honestly haha). I find it very interesting how K-Pop has touched so many corners of the earth in recent years because I used to keep it a secret in a sense; I didn’t want my friends knowing I didn’t listen to American pop all the time when I was in elementary school because I felt embarrassed. It’s so crazy to see how Korean music has become such a big influence around the world (especially with BTS recently winning a Billboard award) and I am continually fascinated since I used to harbor this little secret to myself!
I find music from around the world super interesting, but I honestly do not know a whole lot about Korean Pop, and I definitely have never heard of Seventeen. It’s super cool that each member of the group has such a unique background, from where they were born to what they enjoy doing, and even what languages they speak. I liked how you included the section about where they live. This allows me and the other readers to really related to the group and understand a part of their lives, when without it this would have been difficult. What else happens in this dorm? I think it would be neat to hear more stories.
