Hong Kong actor Ruco Chan, 46, was at a promotional event for upcoming TVB drama The Invisibles, where he fielded multiple questions from reporters wondering if he had been slighted by the broadcaster.
You see, rumours have been rife that Ruco had angered the powers that be at TVB after allegedly refusing to play the lead role in The Invisibles.
It was alleged that Ruco was originally been earmarked to play the lead, but had declined the project after his request for a pay raise was rejected by TVB. As a result, the role went to Kenneth Ma, 49, instead.
It was also said that TVB decided to sideline the actor from then on, demoting him from leading man status. Ruco’s role in The Invisibles is said to be a cameo, and he is not seen on the drama’s poster as well.
Some reports even went as far as to claim that Ruco wanted to provide for his family, but lacked the courage to leave TVB and strike out on his own, which was why he was content to remain with TVB and continue taking on supporting roles instead.
Ruco tied the knot with Hong Kong actress and Miss Hong Kong finalist Phoebe Sin, 32, in 2018. The couple has a daughter, Quinta, four.
However, Ruco has now refuted these reports.
