MSI Announces Intel Xeon E-2400 Processor-Based Server Platforms

December 15, 2023

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Dec. 15, 2023 — MSI, a leading global server provider, has introduced its latest entry-level server platforms powered by Intel Xeon E-2400 processors. These new products are designed to offer enhanced performance, expanded scalability and reliability, catering specifically to small and medium-sized business applications.

“MSI’s innovative Intel Xeon E-2400 processor-based server lineup is optimized for cloud and edge computing applications. Leveraging Intel’s enhanced features, including increased DDR5 memory speed and PCIe 5.0 support, MSI’s customers can now achieve essential performance improvements while maintaining their competitiveness, all with cost-effective advantages,” said Danny Hsu, General Manager of Enterprise Platform Solutions.

“The latest Intel Xeon E-2400 processor enhances performance for single-socket entry servers, bolstering our partner’s capabilities, such as MSI, to support business-critical services. With up to 8 cores, Intel Turbo Boost Technology delivering frequencies of up to 5.6 GHz, and faster DDR5 memory with support for Error Correcting Code (ECC), it offers substantial benefits to businesses, empowering them to achieve both reliability and affordability in the pursuit of their objectives,” said James Cole, Xeon E General Manager in Xeon Products and Solutions Group at Intel.

With support for Intel Xeon E-2400 processors, MSI’s D1500 server motherboard and S1103 server are ideal for entry-level servers that deliver essential performance to support business-critical services and customer data needs.

The D1500 supports a single Intel Xeon E-2400 processor, four DDR5-4800 UDIMM slots, two PCIe slots, up to eight SATA ports, in addition to two NVMe Gen4 x4, and two 2280/22110 NVMe M.2 slots. It also includes dual 10GbE onboard LAN ports, all within a micro-ATX form factor. This standardized form factor simplifies the deployment of the D1500 motherboard in a rackmount chassis, making it an ideal choice for small and medium-sized business applications and office automation.

When paired with the D1500, the entry-level server, S1103, provides accommodation for four 3.5-inch SATA and two 2.5-inch internal SATA drive bays. This cost-effective server is well-suited for a range of applications, including simple web hosting, edge computing, storage appliances, and various cloud service applications.

The E2103 is a 2U edge server, equipped with support for four DDR5 DIMM slots, one PCIe 5.0 slot, two M.2 NVMe slots, and dual 10GbE onboard LAN ports. This 17-inch depth platform features a front I/O design and is outfitted with six 2.5-inch SATA drive bays, with the option for accommodating up to four U.2 NVMe devices.
